Basement Shows

Basement shows were where I began to develop a sense of confidence behind the lens. Working my way up from paying the $5 door charges to being invited to photograph shows for a cigarette and a Modelo tall boy... Good deal.

The images displayed here were all shot on my Sony A7III likely using a Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 lens on a EX-->FD mount.

I always packed my speed light and certainly blinded countless bands and basement dwellers. This being a testament to the confidence I had when I was at these shows.

​

Not only was I able to capture a fleeting time in my college life, I was able to create lasting relationships with many of the subjects in my photographs.

What's displayed on this page is only a glimpse into the hours I spent making new friends with my camera in hand.
