I'd say that title is a pretty funny one. If you get the reference, you've probably numbed your mind watching copious amounts of Trailer Park Boys in your life.
That's not really what this post is about though...
I finally invested a pretty penny into purchasing a
This is by far the smallest and lightest lens kit I've used with my Sony A7III, it's also the first automatic lens I've purchased aside from the kit lens that came with the body. I was torn between picking up the Zeiss lens or the much cheaper Samyang AF 35mm f/2.8. Rather than think too hard, I ordered both used from MPB.com.
I had never heard of MPB.com until purchasing these lenses -- from my experience they're a great used camera gear marketplace with really outstanding customer support, shipping times, individualized product photos, and great return/warranty policies.
Anyway, I ordered the Zeiss for $249 and the Samyang for $144 -- both included free shipping. As you may have already guessed, I kept the Zeiss. The Sony Zeiss lens has a much sturdier build and it being a Carl Zeiss lens, I was biased toward keeping it over the Samyang.
Below you can check out some of the photos I was able to snag December 29 + 30 in Hamilton, New Jersey. Some of the photos were at Night Forms: dream loop by Klip Collective at Grounds for Sculpture the others were taken around the surrounding industrial area in Hamilton. I was pleasantly surprised at my favoring grain in low-light situations, and the smooth colors in the daytime images.
