Facing the annoying elephant(s) in the room:
Youtube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, blah blah blah. We've all heard someone tell us we should start making short-form media to generate more engagement on social media and we've all tried to ignore it. Until one day, we find ourselves particularly bored and we post our first Reel, Short, or TikTok.
I've gone back and forth in my head either convincing myself that short-form media will be my ticket to living a lavish life, or convincing myself that the cyber gods are slowly draining my soul every second by second as I stare at my screen(s). Both sound pretty crazy.
Anyway, I've decided since I'm making more SPAULV video content, I will also translate short versions of the same content to short-form media outlets (YT Shorts, IG Reels, and TikTok). This isn't a new concept, I've just decided I'll put an end to my distaste for utilizing the avenues of exposure available to me (some weirdo s***).
I'm liking my YouTube Shorts, TikToks, and Instagram Reels here for your convenience.
I'm also toying with the idea of really capitalizing on the use of my Mini-DV, Hi-8, and HD camera formats to set my content apart from others. I haven't yet seen someone seriously vlogging with standard-definition cameras in 2022 -- something to explore.
